Inaugural Ball

 At the last minute (6 hour notice) I was invited to one of the Inaugural Balls. Sure sounds fun!

I was told to wear a regular dress and I'd be fine. I should have known Ball = Gowns. I told myself "you're never going to see these people again, whatever."

And the performer was Lady Gaga. I never would have thought I'd be going to Lady Gaga but I never would have thought I'd be going to a Ball either. She is a good  "live" singer and it was fun to have front row entertainment. She sang one song with Tony Bennet. The President and the Vice President also gave a small Hooray Speech. The President and the First Lady are pretty cute together.

Meeting the President

Thanks to a connected Grandpa we were able to attend a holiday party at the Blair House. The Blair House is home to visiting chiefs of state and heads of government while they are in Washington. In essences its the president's guest house.

A train ride and battle fields

We took a special train ride and ran into Santa!

The kids were speechless, "....uh, Hi.......list?......"

Her first "real" roller coaster ride. She started saying "I'm done, I'm done..." about half way through. Afterwards she told me, "I'll try it again when I'm 15 or 9 years old."
