OK, because I am an El. Ed. major and I taught Kindergarten for a few years I have a good collection of children's books (a few hundred, at least.) So I thought I would share some every once in a while. Maybe You will want to pick them up or reserve them at your local library. All I ask is that you read to your children-great.
I share this series of books not for the upcoming holiday but because I bought them new for $2.50 each and I love them. They are on clearance at Kohl's stores, if you have one of those around you.(I'm a sucker for clearance and kid's books) They are for the Kohl's Cares for Kids program and they have a new series so these went on clearance. any who...
The author is Steve Jenkins and the titles are: Actual Size, What Do You Do With a Tail Like This?, and Biggest, Strongest, Fastest.
Just a little more detail on What Do You Do With a Tail Like This? It's actually by two authors : Steve Jenkins and Robin Page. I chose this one not because it's my favorite but because it is a Caldecott honor winner. It's a beautiful book with great information, great pictures, and a lot of fun.
It asks questions like, "What do you do with a nose like this?" ear, hands, feet, eyes...
And then highlights about 5 animals with that feature and it's unique use.
And then... the back has more information on the animals featured, in case you wanted to know more about a particular one-fun.
Anyways, I love them, my daughter loves them, and you'll love them too (I hope.)
SIDE NOTE/?: I DID HAVE PICTURES OF THE ILLUSTRATIONS (3) BUT I'M NOT SURE IF I'M SUPPOSE TO??? COPYRIGHTS AND STUFF?? DOES ANYONE KNOW???
